Meet Sara,
our Senior Nutritionist.
After graduating with a degree in Animal Science in 2009, Sara became a pet nutritionist, following her passion to enhance the everyday lives of our pets through well-balanced nutritious foods, believing that nutrition plays a vital role in every aspect of the health, wellbeing and welfare of our pets. She has a particular interest in understanding how new scientific advancements can be used to create new and exciting products which further advance the health of our pets as well as communicating useful information and providing resources to pet parents to enable them to make well-informed choices, promoting responsible feeding.
Holding a wealth of experience in the pet nutrition industry, Sara has worked across all product formats including wet, dry, raw, baked, cold pressed, freeze dried and fresh foods as well as supplements in species including cats, dogs, small animals, horses, ornamental fish and zoo species. Her roles have been extensive, covering nutrition, product development, research and development (R&D), legislation, compliance, packaging and labelling, quality and food safety, factory processes, technical communications, continuous improvement, raw materials, account management and more! She has also sat on various committees helping to shape the future of the pet food industry with like-minded (and equally passionate!) industry professionals. She’s works with pet parents, brand owners, behaviourists, other nutritionists and industry professionals, educational institutions and students and vets and vet nurses to name a few to spread the word of what good nutrition is!
In her current role she heads up the R&D team and holds responsibility for nutrition, product development and R&D, including business strategy, bringing new products to market from concept through to launch. This role also encompasses many of her previous experiences including legislation, compliance, packaging and labelling, aspects of quality and food safety, factory processes, technical communications, continuous improvement and raw materials.
