Description

Bob Martin Clear Spot-On Solution is an easy-to-use topical flea and tick treatment applied directly to your dog’s skin. It works quickly to kill adult fleas and ticks, helping to control active infestations and reduce irritation.

Designed for large dogs, this topical solution spreads through the natural oils of the skin to target parasites on contact, providing reliable, targeted protection without the need for tablets.

Clear Spot-On is focused on treating visible parasites. Each treatment:

  • Kills fleas for up to 8 weeks
  • Kills ticks for up to 4 weeks, helping reduce the risk of tick-borne diseases

Suitable for large dogs only over 8 weeks old, weighing between 10-20kg. This pack of 3 pipettes allows for several treatments, preventing fleas for up to 24 weeks when used as directed.

For best results, use as part of a regular flea treatment programme, with applications every 4 weeks to maintain consistent protection. Regular use helps reduce the risk of reinfestation and keeps your dog protected

For external use only.

How to Use

For external use only – Apply to an area where the animal cannot lick it off and do not allow pets to lick each other after treatment.

Check that your dog is at least 2 months old AND that their weight falls within the weight range detailed on the pack purchased.

Do not use puppies less than 2 months of age. Weigh the puppy first and ensure that the correct product is used for its weight.

Directions for use:

Read the instructions in the pack and double check that you have the right dose for your dog and their size
Bob Martin Clear Spot-On must be applied at 2 points – at the base of the back of the dog’s head and between the shoulder blades. If the dog is wearing a collar, remove it first so that it does not restrict application and don’t put the collar back on whilst the treatment is on the skin
Remove a single pipette from the pack. Hold the pipette upright and snap off the top section of the cap opening the pipette
Part your dog’s coat until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly against the skin and squeeze gently. Apply approximately half of the pipette at one point and half at the second point. Avoid applying onto the fur and do not rub into the skin as this will reduce the product’s performance

Frequency

To be used at monthly intervals as part of an effective and regular flea control program. The minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks.

IS BOB MARTIN CLEAR SPOT-ON ALL I NEED?

Regular treatment of all cats and dogs in the home together with regular vacuuming of your pet’s bedding and resting areas is needed to protect your pet and home from fleas.

If there is an existing or suspected infestation in the home, it will also be necessary to treat the home with an approved home flea product.

Active Ingredients

Each pipette contains 268mg Fipronil.

Fipronil  – a proven insecticide that works by disrupting the nervous system of fleas and ticks, leading to rapid elimination of parasites. It kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours of contact, helping to quickly reduce irritation and protect your dog from ongoing infestation.

FAQs

Yes, but only if your puppy is over 8 weeks old and within the correct weight range. Always check the packaging before use.

Bob Martin Spot-on has been proven to kill ticks within 48 hours. Dead ticks will often drop off, but because ticks strongly attach themselves to pets, some may still remain attached even though they’re dead. We recommend you safely remove any dead ticks that are still attached with a tick remover. Do not simply pull ticks out by hand, this may leave their mouthparts embedded in the skin, resulting in ‘lumps’ (granulomas) forming over time.

No, you should never use dog flea treatments on cats. Some dog spot-on treatments (marketed by other companies) contain ingredients like permethrin at high concentrations, which can be harmful to cats if applied directly. If your cat is accidentally exposed to a dog flea treatment, you should seek veterinary advice immediately.

However, it’s important to understand that not all uses of permethrin are the same. In products like Bob Martin Clear Home Flea Spray, permethrin is used in a low, controlled formulation for use in the home environment, not directly on pets. These products are safe to use in households with cats when used as directed.

Yes, you can use CLEAR Spot-On on your dog if you have cats at home, but you should take a few precautions.

To use safely in a multi-pet household:

  • Apply the treatment only to your dog, as directed
  • Keep your dog and cat separate until the application area is fully dry
  • Prevent your cat from grooming or licking your dog immediately after treatment

Once the product has dried, normal contact can resume.

Pets may continue to scratch for a short time after treatment. This is often because fleas become more active before they are killed.

If scratching continues for several days after treatment, it could indicate a sensitivity to flea bites. In this case, it’s best to speak to your vet for advice.
