Felight Cat Litter & Accessories

No-one enjoys the task of cleaning out the litter tray but it has to be done. Did you know there are different types of litter, plus a whole range of accessories that can help make this task easier?

Believe it or not, cat litter is not all the same. From colour, to texture, antibacterial or scented, there are several key factors to consider which all effect how the litter works and can make a big difference to you. With Felight cat litter you can be reassured that all of our cat litter and relevant accessories are antibacterial. Look out for the Antibacterial symbol on packs.

There are 2 main types of cat litter, clumping or non-clumping.

Clumping Cat Litter

Clumping litter sticks together when it gets wet (urine) and forms a ball. By doing so, it enables you to remove all soiled litter easily and in one scoop, only leaving clean litter remaining in the tray. Poo does not cause the litter to clump but simple needs to be removed as you usually would. Clumping litters usually don’t need to be completely refreshed as often as all the soiled litter is regularly removed. It does however need to be topped up regularly.

Did you know? If using a clumping cat litter you should fill the tray to between 5-7cm so that it can work properly.

Non-Clumping Cat Litter

Non-clumping cat litter is usually really absorbent, the granules soak up the liquid urine on contact and holds in the odour. When the cat scratches around in the tray it will mix the granules and bring clean, unused ones to the surface ready to absorb more liquid. Non-clumping litters are often, great at absorption and odour control. You will need to change the whole tray on a regular basis.

There are many accessories you can use to make cleaning the tray even easier. From scented liners, to ergonomically designed tray and scoops and even a fragrance to freshen up the tray between changes if needed.
