| Most pets are affected by worms and some kittens and puppies are born with worms. If untreated, worms can cause pets great discomfort, robbing them of necessary nutrition and leaving them tired, listless and out of condition. Worms can also damage your family’s health and it is important that your pet is wormed every 3 to 4 months as a preventative measure to protect the health of your pet and family.
Unfortunately pets can become re-infected with worms from the environment at any time so it is important that a regular treatment programme is maintained.
There are two main sorts of worm – Roundworm and Tapeworm. These worms commonly affect cats and dogs and need to be dealt with in different ways. Fortunately Bob Martin provides a range of highly effective Dewormers to help rid your pet from these pests.
Roundworms: These look like thin garden worms and can grow up to 9” long. Young cats and dogs are particularly prone to them and can have more than one at a time. In very severe cases their bellies can become quite swollen leading to great discomfort, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, coughing and vomiting.
Tapeworms: These can grow up to several feet long and consist of flat segments growing out from a head which attaches itself to the pet’s gut. The end segments containing eggs break away and can sometimes be seen as white wiggling particles (the size of a grain of rice) in the pet’s toilet waste. Cats and dogs can have several tapeworms, which can cause anal irritation and general loss of condition.
Tapeworms can also be spread to other animals by fleas; therefore it is essential that when treating your pet for tapeworm with one of Bob Martin Dewormers, you also treat it for fleas.
Please Note: When using any de-worming treatment it is extremely important to use a product specifically created for the animal you are using it on and you must read and follow all of the instructions and precautions carefully. |
