Do's and Don'ts

Do…

• Make sure you treat your pet for fleas all year round, don’t wait until it’s too late!
• Consider puppy classes/obedience lessons.
• Regularly check your pets claws.
• Make sure you get your pet vaccinated as appropriate.
• Keep plenty of fresh drinking water available.
• Help your pet with grooming by brushing regularly.
• Ensure your pet gets sufficient exercise.
• Make time to play with your pet.
• Feed your pet a balanced and healthy diet.
• Speak to your bird before reaching out to pet it.
• Be prepared that keeping pets can be expensive.

Do give your pets lots of love and cuddles!

Don’t…

• Encourage bad habits!
• Leave your pet in a hot environment.
• Overindulge your pet – fat pets are not happy pets.
• Spoil your pets – they’ll be as bad as spoilt children!
• Hit your pet if it does something wrong – take the time to train them.
• Underestimate the amount of time a pet requires.
• Pet your bird down its back or tail.

Don’t forget… you should never use a product on an animal it is not intended for, always read the instructions!
